The History of St. Francis

A Message From The Principal

The story is told that the idea for this school began in the Adoration Chapel. It seems that an elderly lady was in prayer and the thought that occurred to her was that what this already vibrant parish needed was a school. The idea caught fire and several early parent pioneers as well as parishioners together with a host of outside financial supporters began work on this school some years ago. There were roadblocks along the way, some left the project, others joined, but one constant remained, the school should be built! The Pastor, Father Tom McCarthy, S. J., was there along the way to breath the Gospel message when needed, to sooth frayed nerves and to keep it moving along. Our Archbishop, John Vlasny, also gave his full support for our new school. Together with guidance from the Department of Catholic Schools, St. Francis School became a reality.

St. Francis School is a full member of the National Catholic Educational Association and is registered with the State of Oregon Department of Education.
